Lake Cahuilla, located in southern California, USA just north of the US / Mexican border, was a much larger predecessor of the Salton Sea that occupied the Cahuilla Basin where the Coachella Valley and Imperial Valley are today.
The lake and surrounding regions have been know by many names over the years and include many modern municipalities as well as Native American locations;
