The Alamo Canal, also known as the Imperial Canal, was a system of channels used to convey water from the Colorado River to the Imperial Valley, CA, USA for agricultural purposes.  Portions of the original canal still exist today near the California & Arizona, USA / Mexican border, but are no longer used.  Other sections have been rebuilt and are in use today.
